I Lydia M.Hampande was born in the village called Hanakaamba in the year 25 Dec, 1966 near Mag'unza clinic in chief Mapanza 35 kms away Macha Mission Hospital.
I grew up with my parents and my father was married to 4 wives. My mother was the third wife and the total number of children were 22 and am the third born daughter from my mother's side.
I did my primary at Mauka school and obtained a grade (7) seven school certificate. From there i went to Kalabo high school in Western province were i completed in 1985-1987. After completing school l stayed home with my parents. I was doing a part time job at a Co-operative society as sales lady to raise some funds to pay for the college. From there i moved to town where i got employed.
1988-1993 I joined a company called Zambia Agriculture trading company (ZATCO) in Choma working as a Stores clerk. Buying and identifying suppliers. Issuing goods into the departments. Receiving using order documents and checking qualities of goods bought. When i saw that it was hard for me to go to the college then l decided to get married in 1990. My husband helped to take me to colleges below:-
1994-1995 started a course for Administrative assistance at ZIKO Technical Centre this course was held at St Mulumba under Kasiya Secretarial college in Pemba. I continued my studies on Business Administration.
1996-1997- Trained a computer course in basic skills in word processing, computer care, general maintenance, word perfect and micro-soft word at Choma Provincial Teachers Resource Centre. Obtained a certificate.
1996-1998 -Joined Choma provincial resource centre as computer operator under accounts department.
1998-2003 -Joined World vision as Administration officer in Choma. Tasks were:

The basic management of an office.

Preparation and production of correspondence.

Handling of communication; to produce work of highly confidential nature, requiring the exercise of certain skills and qualities.

Buying and identifying suppliers etc

Preparing payments at an agreed period.
-
Reconciliation of transfers at the bank for customer, wages and suppliers.

Handling petty cash.
-
Handling work of the boss when out.
-
Reporting all the work done at a right time.
The project came to an end in 2003. In the same year my husband died living me with six children and among the six there is set of twins.
2003 in March, joined a Private school as an accounts clerk.
Tasks were:

Handling school fund.

Banking and rehearsing with the bank officers

Handling customers and suppliers-(Nagotiations using business laguage)

Debtor collector

Buying and identifying suppliers
-
Preparing wages for workers
-
Records keeping for the organization
-
Attending to administration issues.
2004 – Joined Zambia telecommunication limited on contract basis in Mazabuka District working as administration officer. Tasks as at above.
09 03-2006
- Joined Linknet as Administration officer. The Executive Director had given me all the tasks to start organising the office that i was operating from with all the necessary information needed.
- We did the registering of Linknet 2007 associate with the help of Fred Mweetwa and we organized all the necessary documents needed for the company to be viable.
- We opened the Linknet accounts and fill in the necessary documents for Zambia regulation laws. We registered the organisation at ZRA and NAPSA all the documents were worked out to satisfactory of the Zambian laws.
- 2008 - Opening up a store room at Ubuntu and employed the stores officer at Ubuntu.

In the same year 2008 I did Pastel Accounting at Micro net in Choma and obtained a certificate under TAVETA institute in Lusaka. The task l was given were relating to the above institution l worked such:

Recording of all financial transaction.

Keeping records of what is bought, sold, owed and owned for all the department in the organisation.

Keeping track of all the monies for the Macha -Flights, thus customers to and fro.

Paying all the Charges to Flying Mission when need arise and reconcilition of there statements towards Macha -flights

Keeping track of income and expenses, in cash account record and account register.

Preparing salaries for permanent workers and piece workers.

Preparing year returns for Zambia Revenue Authority(ZRA) and National Pension scheme.PAYE

Buying and identifying the suppliers
-
Checking on purchases,sales, receipts and payments.

General Ledger, Supplier Ledger and Customer Ledger.

Signatory for the organisation.
-
Banking and reconciling all the transfers made and received. Updating the Ex.Director all the queries received in and out.

Prepare for accountant check up.
My work at Linknet was audited with the following auditors:

Internal auditor, internal and external auditor and last but not least CDC auditors.

Sometimes visitors from PrivaServe were also checking my work when visiting.

Attending to administration issues.
The organisation has helped me knowing a lot of jobs that l did not know and this is due to the executive director who was very flexible in teaching and l didn't get tired till l achieved the oraganisation goals and understanding to some principles needed. Thank God for giving me this job and need to learn more in the same field.as Administration officer.
